Sathyamangalam Tribals "FATE"

Sathyamangalam Tribals "FATE"

In Erode district 1/3 (28%) of landscape is consisting of dense forests. In this mountain stretches  about  30,000 tribal people are living in  Thalavadi, Kadambur and Bargur areas.Different tribal communities like urali, solagar, irular and malayalies are most of the  dwellers. The very basic requirements of fresh air and clear water for human kind is provided by the forest. It is needless to say that the tribal are the saviours of the treasured forests.Inspite of their safe guarding status their life standard is in a very backward and pathetic condition. Education and Medical facilities are  inaccessible for this people. There are so many hurdles across and the prime problem is path.

No proper road facilities are available. At the time of maternity immediate medical  care and in case of human animal encounter, snake bites, suicide attempts with poision it is very hard to safe the precious lives. Anaemia is widely seen in especially women in tribal communities. Under this alarming situation we in SUDAR felt the immediate need of  health awareness and medical facilities as a mandatory issue.
These kind of painfull problems we are coming across in day today life of the tribal people. Our organization is shouldering responsibilty joining hands with the Tamilnadu Forest Department of Sathyamangalam Forest Division and very closely attached with the tribal communities scattered in 40 villages and serving them untiringly.  Likes this with the directions of Government  of India’s National Child Labour Project we are operating 13 special schools in Thalavadi, Kadambur and Bargur mountain stretchers. In 20 villages we are teaching evening classes.

During our tenure of service we have observed lack of teaching faculties in Government tribals residential schools and as per the directions of Tribal welfare department, we have appointed assistant teachers for 10 such schools and making follow ups.
We are regularly organizing medical camps in Thalavadi, Sathyamangalam, and Bargur ranges with the cooperation of Erode Trust Hospital, Arasan Eye Hospital, Sathyamangalam dental Hospital, Rotary International and Lions International. With Government of India’s finanicial assistance we are regularly treating the tribals.
Also we are conducting awareness Naturopathy camps with National Institute of Naturopathy, Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India.
Despite the fact primary health centres are available immediate medical care for acute ailments is very rare in Bargur, Basvanapuram, and Germelam as most of the villages are situated in inaccessible remote dense forests.(for example Uginiyam, Nagalur, Kuntri,Ramaranai,Kongadai) countless practical difficulties are there to reach medical services.

The one and only remedial measure at this moment needed is a mobile health out reach service that can save the precious lives of the tribals. Our organization is closely knitted with the very lives of the tribals and so it is needless to say that we will perform our responsibilities quite effectively and efficiently.
